When Tim Lower '95 was a student at St. Louis University High, he acquired much more than the academic skills needed for success in college and beyond.
"SLUH taught me the value of perseverance and hard work," Tim says. "My classmates, the faculty and coaches inspired me to pursue my goals in life vigorously. More importantly, though, SLUH taught me the importance of friendship, community and charity."
Today, Tim is putting these life lessons to good use. He serves as a partner at Ares Management, a global alternative asset manager and investment adviser with approximately $59 billion in committed capital under management.
Tim is showing his gratitude to his alma mater through a $1 million life insurance policy naming SLUH as the sole beneficiary. Additionally, he has agreed to gift the premium expenses.
"Donating a life insurance policy was particularly appealing to me as it allows me to help the tradition and legacy of SLUH to continue to flourish long after I am gone," he says. "SLUH is an incredible place for young men to learn how to build a future and contribute to the world around them. I hope that the school with the support of its alumni continues to thrive for many, many generations to come."
Tim received a B.S. in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He resides in New York with his wife, Lauren, and two-year-old son, William.
